How we handle personal information supplied through this website. Last updated 30 August 2026.

Who we are

This website is operated by Able Scaffolding Bath Ltd (“we”, “us”, “our”), a scaffolding contractor based in Bath. Our registered office is 19 The Brow, Bath, BA2 1EA. We are the data controller for the personal information described in this notice.

If you have any questions about this notice or about how we handle your information, contact us at info@ablescaffoldingbath.co.uk or call 07429 149629.

Information we collect

Information you give us

If you use the enquiry form on our contact page, we collect the details you choose to submit: your name, your email address, and — where you provide them — your telephone number, the project location or postcode, the type of work, and the content of your message.

If you contact us by telephone or email instead, we hold the correspondence and any details you give us in it.

Information collected automatically

Like most websites, the servers hosting this site keep technical logs. These typically record information such as IP address, browser type, the pages requested and the time of the request. This is generated automatically as part of delivering and securing the website.

This website does not use analytics software, advertising technology or any other visitor-tracking service, and it does not set cookies. See our cookies page for detail.

How and why we use your information

  • To respond to your enquiry and answer your questions.
  • To prepare and provide a quotation, and to arrange a site visit where one is needed.
  • To carry out scaffolding work you go on to instruct us to do, and to administer that work.
  • To keep records of our correspondence and of the work we have quoted for or carried out.
  • To operate, secure and troubleshoot the website itself.

We do not use your information to send marketing unless you have asked us to, and we do not sell or rent it to anyone.

Our lawful bases

Under UK GDPR we rely on the following lawful bases:

  • Steps prior to entering into a contract — where you ask us for a quotation or ask us to carry out work.
  • Performance of a contract — where we are carrying out scaffolding work you have instructed.
  • Legitimate interests — for responding to general enquiries, keeping business records, and keeping the website secure and working properly.
  • Legal obligation — where we are required to keep records, for example for tax or health-and-safety purposes.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only where we need to:

  • Service providers who run the website and our email. Our website hosting provider and the email delivery service that sends enquiry messages to us both process the information on our behalf, under contract, and only on our instructions.
  • Professional advisers and authorities — where we are required to share information by law, or where it is necessary to establish, exercise or defend legal claims.

Some of these providers may process or store information outside the UK. Where that happens, we rely on our providers having appropriate safeguards in place, such as UK-approved standard contractual clauses or an adequacy decision covering the destination country.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiry correspondence for as long as we need it to deal with your enquiry and for a reasonable period afterwards, in case you come back to us or a question arises about the work. Where we go on to carry out work for you, we keep the related records for as long as we are required to for tax, insurance, health-and-safety and legal purposes. When information is no longer needed for any of these purposes, we delete it or securely dispose of it.

Keeping it secure

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal information against loss, misuse and unauthorised access. Enquiries submitted through this website are transmitted over an encrypted connection. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have the right to:

  • ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you;
  • ask us to correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete;
  • ask us to delete information where there is no good reason for us to keep it;
  • ask us to restrict how we use your information, or object to our using it;
  • ask us to transfer certain information to you or another provider; and
  • withdraw your consent, where we are relying on consent.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at info@ablescaffoldingbath.co.uk. We will respond within the time limits set by law.

Complaints

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your personal information, please tell us first so we can try to put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO), the UK supervisory authority for data protection, at ico.org.uk.
