How a job is planned and handed over
Site and access assessment
The building, ground conditions, route to the working area and intended use are considered before the scaffold arrangement is agreed. A site visit is arranged where needed.
Planning and design
The required planning depends on the structure. Where drawings or a site plan are needed, they are prepared before erection and the arrangement is worked through against the specific constraints.
Risk assessment and method statement
The relevant risk assessment and method statement set out how the scaffolding work will be carried out on that site.
Erection and handover
Able uses trained crews, including CISRS-trained operatives, with experienced supervision. A handover certificate is supplied where required before the structure is used.
While the scaffold is in use
Equipment is maintained and scaffolds are inspected regularly while they remain in use. Inspection reports record the checks carried out, with the arrangements agreed for the individual job.
Alteration and dismantling
Any required change to the scaffold should be referred back to Able. Dismantling is coordinated once the working access is no longer needed.

- Record the applicable recognised configuration where one is used.
- Pavement-Licence Paperwork
- For structures that need to occupy a public road or pavement, subject to the highway authority’s approval.
- Handover Certificates
- Confirm when the scaffold has been handed over for use.
- Inspection Reports
- Record inspections carried out while the scaffold remains in place.
Drawings and site plans
Where a job needs a scaffold drawing or site plan, Able can produce it using in-house software. These documents can be produced within 48 hours of the site visit, giving the site team a clear layout before erection begins.
